Based on my interest in the future of workforce in #smartmanufacturing:

It is harder for oil and gas companies to lure a younger generation workforce which prefer greener, innovative workplaces thereby making an impact on the world through their work. So they are bringing technology to the forefront to attract this talent.

While technology is not enough, using innovative technology solutions that augment #decisionmaking, participation in open platform development projects, promoting a culture of giving back and investing in training and education to bridge skill gaps will nurture younger talent and help them make a positive impact.

A reminder that success of #smartmanufacturing depends on #customerfocus and #employeefocus#digitaltransformation in manufacturing (or in any industry for that matter) is incomplete unless the ultimate focus is on your customers and your workforce. Because smart manufacturing must bring benefits of digital to the society, your initiatives must constantly measure the values you are delivering to your customers and your workforce – #efficiency and #costreduction are means to this end.
